A2: Spin-charge conversion and topological magnons in magnetic Weyl semimetals

Manfred Albrecht, Christian Back, Lin Chen

The main goals of this project are the fabrication and characterization of magnetic Weyl semimetals (MWSs) and the study of these materials in terms of the mutual transformation of spin and charge. In addition, MWSs provide a unique platform to study the existence of topological magnons and the interplay between topological magnons (bosons) and topological surface states (fermions). We will search for signatures of topological magnons, i.e., the magnonic edge states in the gap, by comparing Brillouin light scattering experiments with inelastic neutron scattering data.
