Further Equity and Diversity measures
Apart from educating and supporting the TRR360 members with workshops and coaching, there are other ways to increase equity and diversity within our project! Here, we present further ways to support our members and help young female students to start a career in science.
Kidsbox
For parents at the University of Augsburg
Parents of small children face circumstances where suddenly the babysitter gets sick or the kindergarden is closed and you will have to take you child to work. To make it possible for these cases to still manage your work, the kidsbox is a big help. This box can be easily transported to your office and provides you with a small bed, a chair for children, books and a lot of toys for your child to play with. The key for this box is in the EPV secretary’s office.
Female Hiwi strategy
All groups of the TRR360
We believe that we can make the biggest impact in bringing more women into science by starting as early as possible. For us this means starting with young students. For this reason, we decided to reserve 50% of our Hiwi budget of the TRR360 for female students, to include them in real research from the beginning. This will give them hands-on experiences early on and strengthen their confidence in their abilities to do research and, thereby lowering the barrier for them to start a career in science.
Equity and Diversity measures at the participating institutions
Each participating institution itself has measures on how it tries to increase the gender equity and diversity. This overview provides links that can be used to find out more about these measures at each institution.
