Workshop: Conflict Management

November 21 @ 13:00 17:00

Only for our female students, PhDs and postdocs!

Conflicts are a part of everyday research life and repeatedly occur not only in research projects. As commonplace as conflicts are, they are often perceived as something negative, provoke fear, and are avoided for as long as possible. However, recognizing, assessing, and addressing them constructively in time offers the opportunity to further develop oneself or one’s collaboration.

In this interactive workshop, participants will explore their own communication and conflict behavior and discuss productive ways of dealing with difficult situations. How can I address a difficult situation effectively? Which formats are suitable for creating a constructive working atmosphere? At the same time, we will look at the influence that structures have on conflicts.

The workshop will alternate between input, exercises, and exchange in small groups and plenary sessions, aiming to create a safe space for self-reflection. The focus will be on transferring what has been learned into everyday research practice.
